This is a copy of a table originally made … more Nice mahogany Kittinger Colonial Williamsburg Restoration dish top birdcage tilt table. This is a copy of a table originally made in New England in the last half of the 18th century. The birdcage allows the top of the table to rotate so instead of passing something you could just spin the top around to the other person. These tables were often used for tea in the 18th century. Kittinger did a great job of crafting their museum reproduction furniture. This table has had a couple of repairs. First the wedge that holds the top onto the pedestal, is replaced but its just a thin piece of wood. When the top is flipped up the very top molded edge was broken off and repaired, a very well done repair! The seam can be seen in the last two photos. Table top is 21 1/2″ diameter and the table stands 27″ tall. less
