Called by Pablo Picasso “the most wonderful pendant lamp of the world,” this sculptural and organic piece was designed by renowned architect J.A. Coderch in 1954. It has since become a much sought after icon of Spanish midcentury design. Lovingly re-editioned by Tunds, it is fabricated with high-quality materials, exacting craftsmanship and an abiding respect for the environment. Price is per item. The iconic DISA lamp has stood the test of time as a true work of art. This newly produced authorized re-edition embraces all the technical, functional, material and aesthetic requirements laid down by the master architect, including those which could not be resolved in his time due to technical limitations. It is an interior lamp with semi-gloss black anodized aluminum rings. A light internal structure supports the system of lighting with pure-LED technology. Executed in natural Oregon pinewood(FSC) veneer specially treated to gain flexibility and machined and anodized aluminum block clamping rings made in Germany. Secured with stainless steel fasteners. Integrated warm integrated LED: 12w; 2400-2700K. Jos Antonio Coderch (1913-1984) is considered one of the most valued architects in Postwar Spain. Often described as the architect of modernity, his works are still seen as vivid examples of contemporary architecture and his legacy includes hundreds of listed buildings all over Spain.
