I’m very pleased to offer for sale this gorgeous fine Chinese porcelain Rose Canton 18″ umbrella stand with the following … more I’m very pleased to offer for sale this gorgeous fine Chinese porcelain Rose Canton 18″ umbrella stand with the following fine features:- Hand-made in China circa 1960s- Main color is rose with a myriad of other colors, including gold, pink, maroon, purple, yellow, green and white- Hand-painted in rich overglaze enamels with some texture (relief)- Two panels depict traditional courtyard scenes, traditionally dressed Chinese men and women in a garden pavilion setting- Two panels depicting floral scenes with exotic birds are between the figural panels- The borders are a repeating pattern of pink and green foliage- Prominent parcel gilt trim- Measures 18.5″ tall x 8″ wide- Weighs approximately 7 pounds 10 ounces- Traditionally used for umbrellas and walking sticks, but used more contemporarily as a tall floor vase- In outstanding condition, with no significant or noteworthy imperfections- Maker’s mark on bottom, along with a sticker that reads: “Gump’s By Mail” referring to Gump’s of San Francisco, a luxury American home furnishings and home décor retailer founded in 1861 less
